Ultrasound therapy
Ultrasound is a mechanical vibration. Its action is based on micro massage and tissue heating.
Ultrasound is used:
- as an analgesic
- as an anti-inflammatory
- for increasing tissue elasticity, in scars, contractures, joint capsule fibrosis
- to reduce muscle tension.
Ultrasound is used to carry out PHONOPHORESIS, which is the non-invasive and painless administration of drugs, e.g. analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants to joints and soft tissues.
